Carnegie Notes from Nov. 28th through Dec. 2nd       

 

This week we did more review.  On Monday, I gave them a scrambled outline (both on PowerPoint and on a sheet of paper with an outline form on it).  I had them organize the scrambled reasons, details, topic sentence (and sort out two irrelevant and overly broad details).  After 45 minutes, we examined how they’d organized the reasons & details and looked at a correct outline on PowerPoint.  Wednesday, we did grammar review, but we used no technology (practice worksheets on run-ons, fragments, and comma splices).  Friday, they’re writing a paper (no teaching, no technology).
